83 On The March in Missouri October 2d 1864 Sunday The Enemy has made His apearance in front, and when we Resumed the march.everything was Cleared for action Cartridge Boxes filled &c, &c, marched in Close order Rappidly for 15 miles when we crossed the St.Francis River by fording it at the Villiage of Greenville & went in to Camp on the North Bank on a very pretty flat surrounded by pine Clad Hills near the villeage. I took 8 grams of quinine in 4 doses last night to keep of the ague to day, it had the desired effect. one man of the 10 Mo Cavilry was shot by the Rebels yesterday on the march when flanking
