108 On the March in Missouri October 26th. 1864 Wensday Marched early this morning leaving the State line of Kansas and taking the Road to Marrenton leaving the direct pursuit of Price with our Infantry force, as useless. Our march to day was over a high & vast Prairie, with here and there a deserted farm House, the sad mouments of this fratricidal war. Arrived at Harrisonville at Sunset & Camped 2 miles south of it, a 29 miles march without a drop of water along our Roat. While Coming in to Camp James Henderson presented me with 3 light biscut & some Butter, It's frouit of some late trade with the Citizens of Harrisonville
