Dr Boerhaaves Receipt for Rhumatick Pains And the Gout Rp Gum Guajcum powder'd one ounce put into four ounces of Sal: volatile Oleosum. shake it often for four days, then pour it off into a vial Take a Tea spoonfull once or twice a day in wine or water continue it for some time, taking about once a week or fortnight a dose of Rhubarb. It is good in the Gout, it Expels Wind, carrys off Phlegm; promotes appetite. Some keep it steeping ten days. the best way of taking it is in a glass of water an hour before you Rise, and the last thing you do at going to Bed. you may purge in the taking it with what agrees best with you. continue taking it some time. In Rhumatick pains you may leave it off for 3: or 4 days, & then take is as you fine it agrees with you.
