January 1st 1883 We got the work done up in pretty good time. I washed out some napkins that we dirtied the last of the week. Mother & Otto went down to Grand-mothers to a dinner party. I got the dinner and ironed some things in the afternoon that were washed last week. Rob and I went over to Clutes in the evening to a donation party, and had a very pleasant evening. Weather cold. Tuesday January 2nd 1883 I washed this forenoon besides doing the other work. Mother went to town in the afternoon and I cut out some work for May. I sewed in the evening. Wednesday January 3rd 1883 I had a fire in the north room and sewed all the time I could get afternoon and evening. Weather cold and wintry I had a letter from Vene. The Day boys come
