Saving...
Wednesday January 17th 1883 I was busy about the house all the forenoon and when were just getting through dinner Frank brought a dressed hog that Aunt Em had sent. Mother and I worked at it all the afternoon. Lee took Minnie over to Hatts to spend the afternoon and they went from there to the dancing class. I was tired so went to bed early. Thursday January 18th 1883 I got through with the work as soon as possible this morning and we cut lard some before noon. In the afternoon as soon as we could get the work done up Minnie and I went to town, was at Hatts a few moments Minnie started home tonight. Ott and Lee went down to Uncle Jims to a party The weather though more moderate in the early part of the day became very cold at night. I wrote to Charlie in the evening. We engaged a new girl today.
