Saving...
house was built by Govenor Lucas in 1824 as we found by an inscription over the front door We were shown through the house by the owners of the place. We then went back to Piketon, saw the place where our people lived The hotel the Grand-pa kept and Mother we knew was married there The old court house where Father practiced law is deserted and falling into ruins. We met a number of people who knew all our people when the lived there and among them Aunt Betty [Scisma?] of whom we had heard all our lives. No one was more glad to see us than she. It was nearly six oclock when we started home and Will took us back another route so we saw Jasper and the place where Grimes Alexander had lived. The house where Clara & Charlie were born and raised The ride home was delightful. A level pike road between the river and canal. When we got home at eight oclock found a good supper ready.
