is of a bright color, and most of the vinegar dried up; then add 2 quarts of strong Vinegar 1 oz: [Mace?] and white Pepper 14 oz: Clover long Pepper and Nutmeg beat and boil then pour on Pickle [?] 4 oz: of Peeled Garlic. Tie it down close. [Summer?] Pie Crust 1/2 [?] flour, rub into it very thoroughly 2 ounces of butter, the yolk of an egg beat up in a little water; the white of the egg to be beat up to a froth and put on the crust with a bunch of feathers [?] sift a little white sugar over it - bake it in a slow over - this will make enough crust for two good sized pies. - [?] Cole
