Sunday August 7th 1881 I was busy about the house most of the forenoon. Mr Horn and wife were here in the afternoon. I talked with them and to Mrs Middleton. Mother and Rob came in the evening and Mr & Mrs Carney were here awhile. Mrs C-- {Carney} is going home in the morning. She has word that her Mother is sick. Monday August 8th 1881 I was up town all the forenoon and was working on the border to my mat in the afternoon. Mollie Stevens came up to attend institute. I do not feel very well. Tuesday August 9th 1881 I went over to Mary Browns this forenoon. Mother was here a little while. In the afternoon Mollie and I went to see Mrs Lombard and Parvin in the grove and stopped to see Cousin Ella Bird. We had company for supper. Some relatives of Johns
