Distemper in Dogs Calomel - 10 Grs. Einatic Tartar - 20 Grs. Made into a large Botics, and divided into twelve equal portions, to be given every other morning fast - His diet should be warm strong broth - Should the complaint be abstinate after this recipe - put a seton or cowel in the dogs neck - If the disease is accompanied by severe purging - give Gum arabic: - 1/2 oz. pulverised Prepared chalk - 1/2 oz. No. 2 Mix and divide into twelve small balls - give one, two, or three during the day till the purging ceases. refrain from medicine for two days, and in the can time give a small quantity of Isinglass boiled in milk every four Hours - Then have recourse to Pills (No. 1:) - Should much horseness follow, - give 20 Drops of opium - and keep him warm - Mrs. Laseeles. boil it together till it comes to a quart then strain it off: when cold bottle it: two spoonsful will be sufficient for a pound of butter.
