L. & M. Red Spinners Mid:June for two months after hot sultry days there flies very good till dusk particularily upon large rivers. Wings of the ones of dingy copper coloured feather of a mallard - body of a squirrel,, fur ribbed with gold twisted fine red hackel over the whole and [forked?] with the fibres of the same - wings of the other spinner from feather of a starling's wing - body of dull red mohair ribbed with gold twist, a [?] and hackle over the whole; and forked as before (7 or 8) N.& O.- Bland & red ant - Mid: of June - if sultry, I continue for three weeks, a month. Wings of the red sort are from feather of starling wing. Body of brown peacock hare - with a fine paper [?] wrapped twice under the but for legs. Wings of the black are of a fine transparent sky blue but as no feather is to be had exactly similar to the colour, [?] either use no wing or otherwise feather of a wand pigeon - body of black ostrich feather and a black hackle upon the whole ([?]) pon 11 in Nov: till 6: in Eur:in hot & gloomy weather.
