Tuesday August 31st 1880 Weather still rainy I did some thing at washing the windows in new part of the house, they just about finished the painting today. Wednesday September 1st 1880 We girls finished regulating things up stairs this morning and I did some whitewashing in Mothers room. She started to the valley about nine oclock and we girls took up the carpet in Robs room and washed it before noon. Soon after dinner we went to town and did some shopping for Hatt and the went to Hutchinsons to a tea party It was night before we came home and John came with us. Thursday September 2nd 1880 I took my music lesson this morning and went to see the carpenters about the work We sewed the carpet for Robs room before noon and in the afternoon put it down and the new rag carpets.
