10 Warm opening Medicines Mrs. [Ragnardson?] smaller quantity 3 drachms powder Rhubarb 1 drachm 4 do Magnesia 1 do 1 scruple 3 ounces Comp. Spirit of Lavender 1 ounce 3 ounces loaf Sugar 1 ounce 24 drops oil of Annis seed 2 drops 24 grains Salt of Tartar 2 grains 1/2 pint water 1 1/2 pint Water shake this well together and bottle it close one tea spoonful to be given every three hours as occasion requires to an infant - a grown person to take a large table spoonful at the same periods Receipt for Weak Eyes Solomons - 1839 1 Poppy head 1/4 oz of Camomile flowers boiled in 2 quarts of water reduced to one, add 2 tablespoons full of vinegar 3 do of brandy 4 do of rosewater 4 do of elderflower water Bathe the eyes twice a day A Good Cough Medicine Syrup of Poppies Oxymel of Squills Clarified Honey Horehound of each equal parts - A Teaspoonful to be taken Night & Morning in a glass of hot water- This is for a grown person
