To make Yeast good & Bread light For 3 stone of flour take a quarter peck of Potatoes (red are best because whitest inside) boil them well, smash them skins & all so as to make a sort of gruel with water - Strain this off into the Yeast to which you have put a lb or two of flour - a little salt adds to the effort - Rev'd R Twopeny To keep wet out of Shoes - one oz Indian Rubber 1/2 pint Spirit of Turpentine - let it stand a few days by the Fire till the Indian Rubber is dissolved: then with a brush rub the soles & upper leather of the shoes. The shoes at a proper time after when they are brushed will shine tolerably Rev'd R Twopeny
