July 8th 1861 Given by a traveller from Grantham wishing to make money to emigrate To clean polished Furniture Wash first in vinegar & water - 1 Dram acetic acid makes a Pint Vinegar Pint & half lukewarm water to Pint vinegar for washing - A reviver Pint raw linseed oil 4 oz of spirits of wine 1 oz spirits of salt 1 oz butter of antomony 6 oz of white wine vinegar 2 oz of prepared gum acacia - the whites of 2 eggs - The oil, gum acacia, & whites of eggs to be beaten together in a mortar until they amalgamate, then add the other ingredients To be rubbed on with a soft piece flannel.
