Saving...
Wednesday June 4th 1879 We girls began early to paper the dining room. Mr Ligthier brought over the new carpet for both halls and the stairs this morning about ten oclock the Middletons and Emma came. Mrs. M-- helped mother with the dinner and us girls finished our papering by noon. Mrs [Princey?] came in the afternoon and we sewed both the new carpets. Emma went home but the other ladies stayed till after supper. Kate Boye and her aunt called here after supper. Rob and I went to take a ride. was down to Lothrops and when we were in town stopped at the Christian church festival. I was tired enough when I got home. Thursday June 5th 1879 We cleaned the halls this morning and put down the new carpets. I helped with that some and with the baking some, besides partly doing a washing. Mother and Rob started to the valley as soon as they ate dinner. We girls got the work all done by four oclock. Lou [Cottrell?] came then. After supper she and Hatt went over to town. I did up the work and wrote a long letter to Aunt Mellissa.
