Sunday August 17th 1879 We took an early start this morning and drove away down by the river getting back to Sherfeys for dinner and in the afternoon we went in and took a look at Muscatine. When we got back we found the boys there and we spent the evening very pleasantly. Weather pleasanter. Monday August 18th 1879 We got started home by seven oclock and the drive was splendid. We found out where Lucy [Evans?] lived as we came through West Liberty and saw her a few moments. We stopped at [Fellhers?] for dinner. We got home about four oclock and I was very tired, but I had enjoyed the trip very much.
