Saving...
Wednesday September 3rd 1879 I ironed this morning and did some baking. We girls all spent the afternoon at Ella Rhodes and John Whitstone came out there to supper it was after night when we got home. Thursday September 4th 1879 Two girls baked cake this evening while Bird cleaned up the house and then all but I went over to see the show parade. We had plenty of company for dinner. Lee and Ed got home last night and they went over town and found John Mc. and his cousin and [Joe?] had a couple of friends here to the dinner with him. Lee came home from town with the sad and startling word that Aunt Catherine was dead. In company Mr + Mrs Cochrane + Mr + Mrs Miller with a Mrs Nine who is lecturing here come to spend the afternoon. We had a pleasant visit with them. Mr Dickey came this afternoon to spend a few days. After the company have gone Rob prepared to go to the show as John was going to take Bird and Hatt. It was the best show I ever saw.
