Thursday, April 26th, 1883- continued had long talk with him in reference to our 40 there. He yielded possession, and signed a lease for this year. Nearly had a run away as I returned to town. Had supper and wrote letters, Wrote Mr E. that if Harrison would break us 30 acres on the farm and do a good job we would pay him $2.00 per acre this has been a delightful day- Roads in prime condition. Friday, April 27th, 1883 Went down to [Thayer?] at 8 o'clock and got breakfast. Walked out and experienced the 40 in sec. 12 belonging to [Mother?] and Iowa, accompanied by Chas. Luke Jr. Walked over and examined the 160 in Clark County, and talked with various parties. Got back too Thayer at 1.30 Had dinner and took train west to Afton. Spent afternoon at work in the offices. Paid tax on [Harrisons?] 40. Got $1.50 from clerk, fees in [Harrisons?] case. Attended home entertainment at the Court House. This has been a beautiful day and a fine night. Saturday, April 28th, 1883 Up at 4 o'clock and took train for [Villica?] Made close connection and run down to [Clarmida?] Got breakfast at restaurant and walked about town. Saw N.B. Moore's fine house called on [Calif Morseman?], and made copies of his arrangement with Moore and the securities taken. Stopped at the Linderman House in which we hold stock [illegible] the Moore judgement. Spent the afternoon in walking about and in Morseman's office. Told Morseman that we were willing to let the judgement stand as it is, if Moore would take no appeal. Also that in any division of the late judgement, we would want he (Morseman) to take the property there at [Clarmida?] Went up to [Villica?] on the evening train. Met Charlie [illegible] Put up at commercial- Got shave- A beautiful day.
