Sunday, May 20th, 1883 ( 7th anniversary of Grandfathers death A cold cloudy, gloomy day, with raw wind in the North. Gave the Phaeton and "Charlie" a good cleaning up this forenoon. Dressed and read till dinner. After dinner, hitched to the Phaeton, and Ott brought Hattie and Edith over. Jake and I then took a ride around town.[illegible] to go down to Uncle Jim [illegible], but learned that Minnie was not at home, so did not go down. Called and cancelled my driving engagement with Lulu on account of weather. Spent bal. of afternoon pleasantly at home reading. After supper, Lee took Hattie and the baby home and Jake and I attended the M.E. Church. Sermon rather long. Home and read awhile.Monday, May 21st, 1883 A bright and cool day, with keen wind in the N. Came to office and spent the forenoon at work, Collected [milter?]
