Traded my old watch alarm for a new fob chain at Starts main today Wednesday, June 13th,1883 A fine, bright, warm day, and the mud drying up rapidly. A beautiful evening. Came to the office this morning and did morning writing. Spent balance of forenoon at work in office. Home to dinner and spent the afternoon in the office and running around. After supper, got "Charlie" up hitched to the Phaeton and took Iowa riding. We took Edith out for a ride. Home, put on old clothes, and did the milking. [Manly?] Moon and Kit Lovelace were married today. Also Ike Lee and Affie [Strohum?]. A fine eve. Thursday, June 14th, 1883 Another beautiful summer day. I got horses up and hitched "Charlie" and "Nellie" to the double buggy. Got the cows up and helped with the milking. Lee and I then came over to town and got 158 lbs of [illegible] and some [stopler?]. Went out to the far in Sangster's, where we borrowed a stretcher. Got to work on the North line of pasture fence. Had good lunch dinner, and finished our line of fence at 4 P.M. Drove around by [Brody's?] to show him our little mare. Home at 6 o'clock and had supper. Did shores. Father has lame back. Friday, June 15th, 1883 Raining this morning, cleared up with high cool wind from the South warmer this afternoon and a fine moonlight night. Up early and did milking. came to office at 10 o'clock. Home to dinner, and fixed some fence. Came over and spent the afternoon at work in the office. Made $25 loan to Add Kennard. After supper dressed carefully and attended the anniversary exercises of the Societies. Jennie [Haufon?] had fine oration.
