Friday, June 22nd, 1883 Today is the 7th anniversary of my graduation from the Academic Dept. of the University. Did the milking this morning and spent the forenoon on the garden, cleaning up our early potatoes. Auntie Walker and Sallie Hart here to dinner. Ott and I rode over to town in the Phaeton, after dinner driving "John D". Did some running around. Spent balance of the afternoon in the office conversing with Mr Pryse. Allis Holson and [Amia?] Nelson took tea with us. I did some measuring in the yard. Then addled "Jim" horse-first time- and rode him over to town to have horse doctor see him. Geo Pinney pronounced his trouble the ["qunsy"?], Home, conversed awhile and to bed. Weather foggy this morning. Hot this afternoon. Saturday, June 23rd, 1883 Ott went to the valley today to repair fence, make gates and attend a fishing party. Tom Crowley set a line of posts for us, and Lee and I put the [mills?] on making a good fence between the pasture and corn lot and the meadow. After dinner came to town and spent the afternoon at work reading and writing letters. Got shave. home and did milking. Ott home late. Sunday, June 24th, 1883 A cloudy and unusually cool day. Gave the Phaeton a good cleaning up this morning. Washed and dressed and read till dinner. Chas Holmes, and Jud McCollister & wife also Hattie and family took dinner with us. Spent the afternoon pleasantly reading in "Superstition and Force" After supper hitched "John D" to the Phaeton, and took Hattie and the children home. Then called for Belle Morrison and we had a delightful ride. Went out by [Crousetown?]- Home at 9 and read awhile.
