Saving...
Thursday, September 13th, 1883 A bright warm day, but dust intolerably bad. 3d day of the County fair. Spent forenoon at home helping carpenter "finish up" Came over to town a short time. Helped awhile after dinner. Then hitched to the buggy and rode down to the Fair taking Will and Mr Mattison with me. Spent afternoon on the Fair Grounds seeing all that was to be seen. Home at 5 o'clock bringing Mother and Father. Jud Stinson and family took dinner with us today. Spent the eve at home. Friday, September 14th, 1883 Last day of the Fair. A slight rain this morning laid the dust nicely, but the day has been warm although cloudy. Did morning work. Went out to the West Farm and put on the balance of the slough hay- a small load which I loaded myself because could find so one to help me. Home at noon. After dinner hitched to the buggy and took Mother, Father, May, lady boarden and Mr [Hyoham?] to the Fair. All got in on Fathers complimentary. Spent afternoon on Fair Grounds. There was some fair racing, and good display of stock. The balloon was on the ground but did not have gas enough to take it up. Home at 6 o'clock in midst of jam. Did the chores. A beautiful moonlight night. Saturday, September 15th, 1883 Weather cloudy, hazy, and threatening a rain. Did morning work, and spent forenoon cleaning up barnyard. Came over to the office and spent the afternoon writing up Diary and [a/cs?] and running around. Collected the Paige vs Place claim today.
