Saving...
Sunday, September 16th, 1883 A rainy night, and cool cloudy day. Did the chores and milking. Dressed and attended the Unitarian Church. Mr Clute preached an excellent discourse on "What can I know, what out I to do. What hope for." Ott and I took up the collection after the sermon. On the way home, I met Jennie Hanford. After dinner took a walk through the grove. Then hitched "John D" to the buck-board and down to the valley with Mother. We took a can down for Molasses. Went down to Grandmothers and stopped a few moments. Brought a gallon of molasses up and home to a late supper. Attended the Presbyterian Church. First up A lady representing the Foreign missions gave an interesting talk. Home read awhile and went to bed. A fine moonlight night. Monday, September 17th, 1883 A bright, cool pleasant day. Did chores and milking. Lee and I then went out to the [Sanfry?] place to work on the road. Took both [illegible] John Stevens and I went over to Coralville and got a scraper. Home to dinner. Went out and worked late this eve making a full day. Home at sundown, and did usual chores and milking. A beautiful moonlight night. Tuesday, September 18th, 1883 Another beautiful autumnal day. Did morning work. Lee and I then went to work on the road with both teams. Worked along the lane in front of Pratt's and Crowleys. Home to dinner. Put in good afternoons work. Did chores and milking. A glorious moonlight night. Ed McCollister is here to stay all night preparatory to going to the West Liberty Fair.
