Ed Shraden and Annie Marfield married today. Tuesday, September 25th, 1883 A fine bright day, but quite cool. Up early and got fair start to the W. Farm with load of sand. Roads slippery. Peter also a load. Home at noon. Got line [illegible] of Jim [Glick?] and took another big load of sand out to the farm. Home at sundown. Did chores after a letter to Father at St.Louis. We made an agreement to sell 7 acres of the homestead to Mr Cannon for $1800 cash. Wednesday, September 26th, 1883 A beautiful autumnal day. Indian summer weather. It has been a busy day. Up at 6 o'clock, and after early breakfast took two masons and a laborer out to the farm to lay up wall for the new barn. Got then out there shortly after 7 o'clock. Drove home, hitched to the wagon and took out a load of rock. Home to dinner. Lee and I went out with both teams this afternoon. He took out a load of rock, and I a load of rock rock and 9 bushels of line. I gathered two sacks of seen corn and brought home. Also brought home the men. After supper spent he evening at home reading Geo Elliot. Thursday, September 27th, 1883 Damp, cool, and foggy this morning, but has been a fine day, after the sun got up. Got early start and took the men out to their work. Home and Lee and I made two loads of rock to the farm. Home to dinner, and hauled out two more loads this afternoon. I brought the men home. After supper dressed and attended the political meeting at the Opera House. Mr Kinne made a very good speech. Home at 10 o'clock.
