Saving...
Monday, October 1st, 1883 A fine bright morning begins the new month. Up early and took the masons out to the W. Farm in the buggy. Home via town where I got 2 bu line, after tedious wait for Louis. Put on load of rock, and went to farm with it. Put on good load of rock directly after dinner and hauled same to the farm. Hauled up some rock to house site. Home in a hurry to escape heavy rain, Got quite wet. Spent eve pleasantly at home reading. The Co. surveyor run off Cannon's 7 acres this afternoon. Tuesday, October 2nd,1883 Weather, bright and warm and drying rapidly. Did morning work. Got ready, came over to town and did some writing. Home to dinner. Hitched to the wagon and took the masons out to the farm to finish the wall. Got a load of jerked corn, and home with the masons did tools in good season. Did usual work and spent the evening at home reading. Cost of labor on mason work $26.25. Wednesday, October 3d, 1883 Another fine day, but cool wind and threatening rain tonight. Up early and took three carpenters out to the farm in the buggy. Home, and hitched up team for Jim Glick to take his lime box over to town. Came over to town in the buggy, got nails for barn on the West Farm, and also a bushel and a half of grass seed. Home and went to work on the hill north of the house. Grandmother and Aunt Em here to dinner. I worked at the hill till 4 o'clock, finishing it up in pretty goodstyle. Then took a load of old framing timber out to the West Farm and brought the carpenters home. Spent eve at home.
