Thurs. Nov 8th 83. A fine day. Clouded up this eve and we had a terrific hail storm. 2 inches of hail fell. Chored around forenoon. One load of manure to West Farm this afternoon. Boy load of wood from valley for Rowe. Attended Shakespeare Club tonight Small attendence. Read Act IV Julius Caesar. Home and read. A dreary night. Fri. Nov. 83 Boy and I spent forenoon clearing up around barns &c. Boy to valley for load of wood for Rowe. spent afternoon choring. Got pigs from Huffman's charge $1.00 Also bought from him Sow and 7 pigs for $15.00. Home this eve reading Ott to depot for mother who came on 9.30 train. Talked about her trip. A fine night. Sat. Nov 10th.83. A most beautiful day, and lovely night. After chores got to work and trimmed balance of north line of hedge between us and Folsoms. Painted fence and chored around this afternoon. Boy a load of wood for Rowe. Dressed and attended Erodelphian Society. Rather dull. Home, read awhile and went to bed. Sun. Nov. 11th 83. A bright day with cold and furious wind from N.W. all day. Did chores. Washed and dressed. Spent day indoors reading "Daniel Deronda" and Shakespeare. After tea, attended Unitarian Church. Prof Eggert delivered a fine address on the "Life and Work of Martin Luther" Yesterday at 11 P.M. was 400th anniversary of Luthers birth. Mon. Nov. 12th, 1883. A hard freeze last night, today bright but cold. [Tramped?] over backpasture and talked with Sangster No success. Afternoon in office writing letters- Eve at home- Fine moonlight night.
