Tues.Nov.13th.83. A cold wintry day, but bright. SPent the day at home choring husking out corn &c. The boy a load of wood from the lower farm. Wed.Nov 14th 83. Wind in South and terribly cold and raw. Ice in river. Did chores, The boys made two loads of wood from the timber, which I ricked up. Looked after chores. Dressed and to town after supper. Got shave, and made a pleasant call at Mrs. Hudson's, Invited the ladies to our Literary next week, and engaged then for music and recitation. Home and read. Thurs. Nov. 15th.83. Wind furious from N.W. and very cold. River closed- Looked after chores. The boys two good loads of wood, which I ricked up. Spent early eve at home. Then over to Shakespeare Club. Presided in absence of Mr Clute. We read the last act of Julius Caesar, and had interesting discussion on the play and characters. Home read in Daniel Deronda and to bed. Friday. Nov 16th 83. A cold raw day, with strong wind directly in the South. Did chores and got boys started to the valley with both teams after wood. Hitched to the buggy and Mother and I rode down to Grandmother's. Had dinner here. Grandmother burned her will drawn by [ewingson?] Deer.1881. after we had read same. I went over to the timber and made call at Aunt Ellen's. Home in good season. Did chores and spent eve at home. Boy $2.15 for [illegible] boots. Saturday. Nov. 17th.83. A lovely day. Boys two loads wood from timber. Self chored this forenoon. To town afternoon and in office. P.M. atended Hespherian Soc. Saw Mrs Gorton and Lulu home.
