Friday, Nov. 30th, 1883. A most beautiful day. Boy and I to valley ^with both teams and did good day's work burning brush. Brot two loads of wood home. Lee took Iowa, Hattie Mrs Carney and the children to Grandmothers visiting today in the buggy- At home this eve. Saturday. Decr.1st,83. A most beautiful day, cooler this eve & wind in N.W. Ott's 24th birthday. Took wagon to shop for repairs. Then sent boy to the valley with wood wagon, and followed in the buggy with Mother and May. Burned brush till noon. Then went down to Nelson's where Mother is visiting, and had splendid dinner. Worked till 4 P.M. Then sent folks home in the buggy and brought load of wood home. To town this eve and did writing in office/ Paid Myron $5.85 in full to date and engaged him from Month to month at $8 per month. Sunday, Decr 2d,83. Weather bright & pleasant a glorious sunset & evening. Looked after morning work. Dressed and read till noon. Spent afternoon in doors reading. Helped water stock and borrowed a wagon from Folsom's for tomorrow. Frank Gray here to supper. I walked over with him, and attended a large Y.M.C.A meeting at the M.E. Church. A.Y. gave rambling talk. Good singing. Monday Decr.3d 83. A fine day, but strong wind in S.W. Boy and I to valley with one team. Cleared up and burned brush on E. side of the road Lee down with other team and brought home load of cordwood. We brought up load of corn place. Quietly at home tonight reading. A fine pleasant eve.
