Thurs. Decr 13th 83. Weather feine and roads better. Cooler tonight and wind in N.W. To valley with both teams. Worked at brush, and brought home two loads as usual. Phillips 1 cord wood and paid $2.25 on same. After supper, Iowa and I attended "Hesperian Exhibition" in Opera House. Fair- Home, read awhile & to bed. Friday, Decr 14th, 83. Cold and blustering with cold wind in N.W. Clear the afternoon but keen cold. Did chores and spent the day working at home. Hung new gate for wood-yard, and placed stile on walk to barn. To town after supper. Attended W.C.T.U at Cong. Ch. a short time. Heard paper by Mrs Gorton on "[Iludu?] currents". Home and read in newspapers A clear cold night. Sat. Decr 15th 83. Still cold, with wind in N.W. Some snow this morning but clear and bright this afternoon. At home this forenoon reading. Dined at Hattie's. Spent afternoon in office writing. Boys got nice lot of wood into the woodhouse. Collected from Tyler on wood a/c $2.00, and from W. Mitcher on same $2.25 Ott to valley with Jno Mc. I came over to office this eve to preside at the club count but there was no attendance. Went up to Opera House and heard Oriental Lecture by "Sau-ar-Broh" Fair. Recorded my guess at Tanners &K. for chair-"747". Sun. Decr.16th 83. A wintry day. Snow storm raging from N.W. Tonight clear and much colder. Looked after chores. Washed and dressed and read till dinner in Shakespeare. After dinner, spent a pleasant afternoon in doors reading. Watered stock and did chores. Attended W.C.T.U meeting at Pres.Ch. Mrs Aldrich spoke.
