Sat. March 1st 1884. Weather cold, cloudy, and raw. Snow storm this eve. Sick at home. Ott collected bal of Lucy Hine note $6.50 Sun. Mch. 20 1884. Snow storm this forenoon and howling blizzard from N.W. this eve. A dull day at home sick. Mon. Mch 3d. 1884. Intensely cold. City election in town. Citizens ticket badly beaten. At home sick. Mr Clute called at 4 P.M. Ott paid tax on W. farm for me=$28.92 Tues. Mch 4th, 1884. Still cold and raw. Sick at home. Lee one load of hay from the West Farm. Wed.Mch. 5th, 1884. Weather cold, but clear and bright. Sold 3 steer to Durham at $4 40 and one at $4.00 per [illegible] Lee and Pete each a load of hay from W.farm. Thurs.Mch. 6th 1884. A cold, gloomy day, At home sick- Doing nothing. Fri. Mch 7th 1884. Lee delivered stock sold to Durham this A.M. Wgt of three large steers 3090. Wgt of my small spotted steer 8.20. @ $4.00 per [illegible]=$32.80 Deposited in bank $35, Paid per Ott $.50 tax on the back pasture. Irving Exhibition tonight. Sat. Mch.8th, 1884. Moderated and snowed some. Pete signed notes for $200. cash rent of West Farm for this year. Signed agreement with Ed Stackman for rent of 120 acres in Union County, Also Fletcher sent down [Duroe?] boar. I was out doors a short time this evening. Sun. Mch. 9th, 1884. Bright and clear but cold. At home all day. We had turkey for dinner. Hatt. John and the children were over.
