Fri. Mch.21st, 1884. Vernal equinox. Rain and mud, no let up. Minnie Given came in on the morning train. In doors all day reading and loafing. Sat Mch.22d,1884 Rain till noon. Then cleared up and is fine. Walked about in open air some this afternoon. Hattie and Urie over this afternoon. At home tonight reading. Erodelphian Ex tonight. Sun. Mch.23d,1884. A fine day. Feeling much better. Paul Custan here this afternoon. Hattie and John spent the eve here and we had pleasant time. Mon.Mch.24th 1884. Weather cloudy, cold and gloomy. Feeling worse today. This is Fathers 68th Birthday. Tues. Mch.25th 1884. Rain all day, and mud horrible. In doors reading. Feeling no better. Wed. Mch.26th 1884. Bright and warm. Sun shone all day. Reading &c- Hattie and Urie over today. Thurs. Mch. 27th 1884. Very warm with strong wind from the East. Finished reading "Intellectual Science" and began reading "The Federalist" Fri. Mch. 28th, 1884. Dull and gloomy- rain- Indoors reading. Sat. Mch 29th, 1884. Bright morning but cloudy day with raw East wind. Hattie and [Urinnie?] with the children were over- Hattie sick- Mr Rydenhaur began boarding with us. Today is Lee's 22d Birthday. Sun. Mch.30th,1884. Weather bright and warm. Spent pleasant day at home. Mother to Hattie's this afternoon.
