Mon. May 12th, 1884. Art Folsom's 33 Birthday. It has been a warm lovely day, with slight rain storm this eve. Spent forenoon at home. Rode over to town after dinner, in the Phaeton with Iowa. At the office worked awhile. Then took Hattie for a brief ride, and brought Iowa home. Spent the eve very pleasantly at home- feeling better. Tues. May 13th, 1884. A bright day, but strong cool wind from the N.W. all day. At home and indoors all day. Read Byron's "Corsair". Wed. May 14th, 1884. Weather much finer today but still cool. Came early to the office, as Ott has gone into the country. Wrote in office till noon. Got fine lemonade at Ward's and collected $1.00 for Mother. Took dinner at Hattie's then walked home with Iowa. Spent pleasant eve at home reading. Thurs, May 15th A fine bright day. Came to office at 10 o'clock and spent forenoon reading and writing. Helped water the cattle after dinner. Rode awhile and worked in office. Down to Hattie's and walked home with Mother. Spent eve pleasantly at home. Fri. May 16th Another warm and beautiful day with a strong breeze in the South. Iowa, May and I down to Aunt Ellen's in the buggy. Had good dinner, and I came back alone. Iowa and May stay down there for a visit. Stayed in the office till 5 P.M. Then walked home. Ott and Will went up to the Mill dam this eve fishing.
