Thurs. May 22d 1884. A bright pleasant day with rain this eve. Spent forenoon in office. Home to dinner. Came over and worked in office till 4 o'clock. Went down to Hattie's and took supper. Mother also there. Hurried home to escape storm. Spent eve reading Byrons Cain. Not feeling so well this eve. Herman fixing garden fence. Friday, May 23d,1884. A cloudy day, with raw wind in West. Spent forenoon in office. After dinner Lee and I rode out to the Back Pasture to assist in survey of the line between us and Sharpless. Not so satisfied with the survey and notified Sharpless to put his fence back on the old line. Rode over to town with Mother. Read awhile in the office. Home and spent eve at home. Saturday, May 24th,1884. A cloudy gloomy day, with cold wind from N.W. Spent forenoon in office, and took dinner at Hattie's with Iowa. Worked in office till 4 o'clock. Got the horse and phaeton from Lee and rode home with Iowa. Spent eve at home reading Byron. Paid Herman $5.00 for labor, tonight. Sunday, May 25th Another rainy Sunday. Cloudy and gloomy all day.Spent the day at home reading and napping. Rev Howe was over this afternoon. Hattie had operation performed today at 2 P.M. Iowa to Hattie's after dinner and mother over there this eve. A dark, gloomy, rainy night. Monday, May 26th A bright fine day, with cool bracing breeze. Spent forenoon in office. Took dinner at Hatties. She is not very well. Stayed in office till 4 P.M. and then home. Spent eve pleasantly at home reading. Wgt today on Herman's scales 130lbs.
