Saving...
Sun. June 8th 1884 A cloudy day with rain at intervals/ At home all day, reading and napping. Lee to the Valley on "Nell" this afternoon. Mon. Jun 9th A cold raw dreary rain from the N.E. all day. The gloomiest day we have had for a long time. In doors all day reading. Tues. June 10th Weather fine, but I am feeling miserable. Rode over to town this afternoon. Iowa, Ott and Hattie selected a fine rocking chair for Grandmothers present. A beautiful eve. Wed. June 11th Grandmothers 82d birthday, and a lovely day it has been. We all got an early start to the Surprise party for Grandmother and surprised her completely. About 40 were there and every one had a good time. I was not feeling very well. Home in good season. Thurs. June 12th Another fine day. Mother and I rode to town in the Phaeton and made some purchases. Bought a corn plow at [Robenan's?] for $15.00 Spent afternoon at home and rode "Nell" after supper. Fri. June 13th A most beautiful day. Mother, Hattie, Edith, and I went down to Aunt Lib's in the double buggy. Had a splendid dinner and an immense dish of strawberries. Home at 7 o'clock. Had a delightful ride and time. Sat. June 14th Rode to town in forenoon. "Nell" broke bridle all to pieces and I got a new one at Hugh McGoverns for 1.00 An intensely hot afternoon spent at home reading. Lee finished plowing corn. Paid [Robenan?] $15. for corn plow. Finished reading Byron.
