Monday, July 7th, 1884. A cool cloudy morning. Came to office and spent forenoon there. Walked home, and spent the afternoon at home. Warmer this afternoon. Tues. July 8th, 1884. Came to office - walked over- and did forenoon's work. Made load of $6.50 to H.O. Hutchinson. Took dinner at Hattie's. Spent afternoon in office hard at work. Drew new note and mortgage in the Zohner matter. Walked home. Mrs Fletcher and Annie Inih with the children took tea with us. Spent eve at home. Weather cool. Wed. July 9th, 1884. A bright clear day with bracing breeze in the North. Walked to the office and spent the forenoon in closing up the Whitmore - Ricker sale. Went up to Charlfaut's and took dinner with Auntie whom I found alone Collected bal. of 1st Geohegan note today. Walked down to the Court House with Geo. Folsom. Democratic Convention grinding in Chicago. Thurs. July 10th Mother and I rode down to Aunt Linda's in the Phaeton, driving "Nell". Had a fine dinner including young fried chicken. Met Anna Cottrell. Home at 6 P.M. tired out. An exceedingly hot day, except refreshing breeze. Fri. July 11th Ott home from Chicago this morning. Rode over to the office awhile. Cleaveland nominated at Chicago for President on 2d ballot. A hot afternoon spent at home. Hendrick V. Prest. Satu. July 12th Rain this forenoon. Cleaned up this afternoon. At home till 4 o'clock. Mother and I then rode over to town. Hattie over - Spent eve at home.
