Thursday, July 17th 1884. Rain last night and a gloomy forenoon. Wrote letters and lounged about the hotel. Same this afternoon taking a little walk tonight. Music and dancing at the Hotel. Friday, July 18th Weather fair but still disagreeable cold wind from the North. Spent the forenoon about the Hotel. In the afternoon Iowa and I took walk over to the bath-house. Ball at the Hotel tonight. Dressed and and took on at the dancing awhile. To bed at 10.30. Sat. July 19th A fine day. Spent the forenoon about the Hotel and down town. Weighed Wgt=125 lbs. Got ropes for Hammock After dinner Iowa and I rode over to Lake Park in Steamer "Hattie May" Had pleasant stop here, Back to the Hotel at 4 o'clock. Spent bal. of afternoon reading, listening to music &c. Sun. Jly 30th A lovely day, Spent the forenoon about the Hotel lounging. After dinner we walked over to the Bath House, and spent the afternoon pleasantly with Hammock and papers. Back to the Hotel and spent eve here writing Ott & Chas. Mon. July 21st Intended to visit "[Minnepatha?] Falls" but missed our train and stayed at Minnetonka Beach till noon. Rode into Minneapolis and saw something of the place. Bought a scull cap [00c?] and cans 25c Back to the hotel at 5 P.M. tired out. Weather hot and oppressive.
