Saving...
137 Friday October 22nd 1886. I was busy about the work all forenoon. Aunt Em went home this morning. And Mrs Denton and Anna soon after dinner Mother was in town in the afternoon. I finished Mays aprons. Ott got home at supper time. It began to rain about then. Will went to the depot with Mr Holmes and it was after nine oclock when he got back as the train was late. I wrote to Father. Saturday October 23rd 1886. It was a faithful rainy day. I was sewing on under-clothes for May. Will was up in the room part of the time he went down town in the evening. I finished my work. Sunday October 24th 1886. Mother went to church and from there to Hatties for dinner and they went to the cemetery in the afternoon. I got the dinner. Will & Esther were here in the afternoon. Will and I went to church in the evening. A sad sad day it has been. Monday October 25th 1886. I began to work on Mothers wrapper. It rained in the afternoon but she went to town any way. Will sat up stairs and talked with me. I sewed in the evening in my room. Tuesday October 26th 1886. I sewed all day on Mothers wrapper. Will went to the valley and was gone till noon Mother was to town after dinner. This is the day Will and I would have been marred had we waited till fall. Weather colder after the rain. Wednesday October 27th 1886. We were up rather early this morning. I washed and took up the carpet in the dining room and sitting room before noon. Hatt came over but did not feel well so went back early in the afternoon. I got the carpets down again, had a letter from Mary Woolf. Mother ironed part of the things before supper. Thursday October 28th 1886. I finished the ironing while Mother began taking up the carpets in the south rooms up stairs. We got them both cleaned today and I began work on the garret. Mother was over town awhile in the afternoon. Will is hauling corn from the west farm. Weather pleasant for the time of year.
