Saving...
142 Tuesday November 23rd 1886. It was a howling cold day. Will delivered two loads of hogs to Linderman at his yards north of town, they were sold at $3.30 a hundred. I did some fixing of Mothers things and at five oclock Will and I dressed and went to Carneys for supper. We spent a pleasant evening, home at ten oclock. Wednesday November 24th 1886. Weather more pleasant than yesterday. I ironed some in the forenoon and packed up Mothers things. She went over town as soon as she ate her dinner and went to Burlington with Minnie Mc on the afternoon train. I did up the work and wrote a letter to Mary Woolf. Will was busy about the place all day. Thursday November 25th 1886. It was late when we got up and nearly eleven before we were ready to start over to Hatts. We had such a good visit and her dinner was fine. It was nearly night when May and I got home. Lee went to West Liberty to a party. Weather quite cold. I wrote to Maggie Duncan in the evening, read some. Friday November 26th 1886. I finished the ironing before noon besides doing other work I cleaned up the kitchen good in the afternoon and wrote a short letter to Charlie about a cap for Will, returning the one he received today. May rode over town with Will, he had Otts black mare hitched up single. I read aloud in the evening. The boys went to the social at Adays. Saturday November 27th 1886. I was busy about the work nearly all day as I did quite a lot of baking. May was over town twice. I wrote to Mother in the afternoon. Will was about the place all day. I read aloud and wrote in the evening. A pleasant winter day. Sunday November 28th 1886. It took all the forenoon to get the dinner as it was so late when we got up. I read a little in the afternoon and evening Lee went to the valley, a rainy gloomy afternoon and evening. Monday November 29th 1886. Will helped me wash before noon. We went to town soon after dinner. I got some groceries and a present to send to Maggie Duncan for her birthday next Thursday. Hatt came home with us to stay till after supper. Ott went to the country. It snowed all the afternoon and eve.
