Saving...
147 with Mr Thorers and Minnie came. John & Hatt with Frank Fletcher were here for supper and to spend the evening We had a lively visit in the evening. Tuesday December 28th 1886. I went to town with Will in the forenoon to get some things. We washed some things in the afternoon, and I had other work that kept me very busy. Our cow was down in the feed rack this morning and when Will was trying to lift her up in the afternoon he hurt his back very bad, he was not able to go over to Hatties party. I went over with Charlie & Ida. They stayed all night. Wednesday December 29th 1886. Charlie & Ida went to the valley in the phaeton, and Will was enough better that he took the rest of us. We broke the buggy right in town and had to get another carriage which delayed us some. We had a good visit and a fine dinner. Charlie had word that he was obliged to go to Burlington on the afternoon train and him and Ida came home ahead of the rest of us. We got home before night. Ida did not go with Charlie. Thursday December 30th 1886. I was working about the house nearly all day. Ida did some ironing in the afternoon. Ida did not feel very well today. Will walked over town. We visited all the evening. Friday December 31st 1886. We all went over to Hatties for dinner. Will took us in the big sled. I took May to doctor Hobby for her swelled hand I walked back in the snow to tell Will where the key to our wardrobe was and came back with him. Hattie had a very good dinner. I went to the depot with Ida Will was there to walk back with me. Charlie brought the sled for us. The evening was spent at home. Saturday January 1st 1887 It was a very cold day. I finished the ironing and did the mending I worked some on the edging and we visited among ourselves. Will walked over to town. Rather a quiet and a very cold new years day.
