Saturday January 15th 1887 It was a splendid day I walked over to town in the morning to do some shopping for Mother. I was at Hatts for dinner and Will came for his dinner He went out to Sangsters in the afternoon to rent forty acres of land. He came after one in the cutter and took Hatt and I riding around town awhile. I sewed all the evening Will went to town awhile. he got his new harness and another load of corn today. Sunday January 16th 1887 I was busy about the house most of the forenoon. Mother went over to town in the afternoon with Lee in the sleigh. I read and talked with Will in the afternoon. We were going to hear Mrs Foster lecture but it blew up so cold we did not go. I read in the evening and wrote a letter to Mary Woolf. Monday January 17th 1887 I ironed Fathers new shirts in the forenoon and Mother and I washed in the afternoon. I wrote to Father and Charlie. It was a dreadful day with blizzard from Northwest. Will and the boy cut some wood. I worked on my edging in the evening. Will bought another load of corn today. Tuesday January 18th 1887 Mother and May did up the work awhile I packed her lunch. Some after dinner Will took Mother over to town as she was going to take the afternoon train to meet Father and they are going to visit Aunt Lydia. I worked on my edging in the evening. Wednesday January 20th 1887 I ironed some and chopped the rest of the sausage besides doing the rest of the work. I wrote to Mother in the afternoon Hatt came over and stayed till after supper. Will went over and John came back with him to stay awhile. The boys took their dinner to the timber Friday January 21st 1887 The boys went to the timber. I ironed and worked about the house all day. I dressed a turkey for Sunday. We had a letter from Father. he met Mother at Kansas City and they went to Carthage Thursday forenoon. I finished a towel trimmed with lace I made tonight.
