Saving...
Saturday January 22nd 1887 It began raining before day light and kept it up all day long we could not go to town as we had planned to do. I got my work done in the forenoon so I set down all the afternoon and I was glad of a chance for I do not feel very well today. Sunday January 23rd 1887 It was snowing till noon. I roasted a turkey for dinner. Lee went to Mrs Dr Moores funeral in the afternoon. I wrote a couple of letters before noon and read all the afternoon and evening Ott and Lee were neither one home to supper. Monday January 24th 1887 Will helped me do a large washing before noon. We went to town in the afternoon and while I did some shopping Will took Hatt and Robbie a good sleigh ride. When we got home Lee and Glenn McCrory were fixing a tent on runners. Glenn stayed till after supper I sewed some for them in the evening. Tuesday January 25th 1887 Will and the boy went to the timber. Ott to visit schools. Lee did not come home to dinner so I did not get any. I gave the plants a good going over and oiled the kitchen floor. I had a letter from Mother and wrote to Ida. Wednesday January 26th 1887 I got the work done up early and Will and I went out to Dentons to spend the day. Mary & Lee ate dinner at Hatts and Charlie went to the timber. John & Ott came out to Dentons to dinner. We had a splendid visit. Mary stayed over town all night. Will and I were alone all evening. Thursday January 27th 1887 Will and the boy went to the valley for a load of wood and a hog Will had bought. Ott was away all day. Edith came over with May. I ironed some in the forenoon and worked edging in my spare time. Friday January 28th 1887 Will hauled cinders and bought another load of corn. Hatt came over early in the afternoon and stayed here while I rode over town with Will. I finished the ironing. Will went to town after supper and John and Ott came back as he did. We had a good letter from Mother. I got a letter and a beautiful tidy from Rebecca Lunbeck.
