Saving...
156 Wednesday March 2nd 1887 I was doing baking in the afternoon and as soon as I ate my dinner, I walked to town to order groceries and went down to Hatts. She was just ready to come over as I came back. Clara Ashley came for flowers. They did not stay long. I got a book out of the garret in the evening and Will and I began book-keeping. Thursday March 3rd 1887 I ironed some this forenoon and got dinner. Will was hauling cinders for the hog lot. When Ott came home to dinner he brought Charlie with him. He went back to Burlington in the afternoon. I was working on lace what time I had. Friday March 4th 1887 I finished the ironing and got the dinner. We had a letter from Mother written at Topeka. I worked on my lace in the afternoon and evening. Weather colder than first of the week. Saturday March 5th 1887 I was busy cleaning up the house and doing the baking before noon. I finished a towel trimmed with lace in the afternoon and worked on lace in the evening. Will was making a gate in the forenoon and him and May were both in town in afternoon. Sunday March 6th 1887 It was a bright warm day and the snow nearly all melted. The Whetstones were over for dinner. I read a little during the day and Will and I talked all the evening. Monday March 7th 1887 It with a pleasant day. Will helped me with a large washing and in the afternoon I swept up stairs and cleaned the porches. The clothes got dry so I rolled them up ready to iron. Tuesday March 8th 1887 I was busy all the forenoon doing baking. I wrote a letter to Ida after dinner and sent May to the office with it. I worked on my edging all the afternoon. Hatt came over about five oclock and stayed all evening. Will went to town after supper and Sam came back with him.
