159 Thursday March 24th 1887 Mother and Father Will & I went down to Aunt Ellens for dinner. We took May along and left her for a visit. The wind blew very cold all day. I knit while there and in the evening after I came home. Father is 71 years old today. Friday March 25th 1887 Weather more pleasant. I rode to town with Will this morning and stayed at Hatties while he went in the country. He came back there to dinner and we came home soon after. Anna Denton and Hattie were over all the afternoon and Hattie stayed till evening. We lost a young heifer this afternoon. Saturday March 26th 1887 I sewed on Mothers dress and got it all done, and made a side-board scarf for Mrs Hart in Chicago. Mother and I are both suffering with colds and Father complains with his back. It began snowing just before night and promises a bad spell of weather. Jake Lamb stayed here all night with Ott. Sunday March 27th 1887 It was a snowy day and we were at home all day and the folks were not over from town. Will and I wrote letters in the afternoon and in the evening we were reading and talking. Ott and I were talking some in the morning about the arrangements to be made here for another year. Jake went away before dinner. Monday March 28th 1887 It was as cold as winter today. I cut out three colored shirts for Will and sewed on them all day and knit in the evening. I sent Mrs Hart her side-board scarf today Tuesday March 29th 1887 Mother and I washed this forenoon and I went to town all the afternoon. I was at Hatts and found Grand-ma and Mollie Stevens there. I was knitting what spare time I had Lee is twenty five years old today. Wednesday March 30th 1887 Mother went over to Hatties today to visit with other company Will took me over after dinner in the phaeton for a short visit Mother came home just at supper time. Will feels badly with a cold. We had the letters from Lee he will come this week.
