163 Thursday April 18th 1887 I washed in the forenoon and in the afternoon worked a little in the yard before going to town. I went to the catholic church to see Gertrude Lewis and Mr VanWagener married. Will came over to Hatties for supper and we all went to the opera house to see Harry Choate in "Ingomar" We were not very well pleased with it. Tuesday April 19th 1887. I ironed part of the things in the forenoon. After an early dinner Will and I drove to the valley with the bay team. We stopped at Stevens a little time. I did not feel well today. Wednesday April 20th 1887. Mother and I were working out of doors most of the forenoon. Father went away in the afternoon and Mother went to the depot with him. I worked out in the yard all the afternoon. Thursday April 21st 1887 Mother went to town in the forenoon and I burned some brush in the back yard. In the afternoon we burned leaves down in the lots, about four oclock we had to come in for it began to storm. Will came in from the pasture lot where he is making fence. Ott has been away since yesterday Will went over after mail tonight and got letter from Lizzie Duncan. It was a gloomy evening. Comfortable to be by the fire. Friday April 22nd 1887 I was busy about the house all the forenoon. Mother went to town in the afternoon though it was windy and cold. I was out by the barn where Will was at work most of the afternoon It rained just before night. Ott got home tonight. Saturday April 23rd 1887 I ironed a little and worked about the house all the forenoon It was a cold windy day but I went to town in the afternoon Will was over in the evening. We heard from Father today. Sunday April 24th 1887 The children came over early this morning. I was busy about the work all the forenoon as Mother went to church. John & Hatt came home with her. We read and talked all the afternoon. I read again in the evening. The red cow had a fine calf today It was a cold day for the time of year.
