Saving...
164 Monday April 25th 1887 We washed the forenoon and Mother went to town after dinner. She found Hatt sick and did not come home till dark. I did all the ironing in the afternoon, weather showery. This is Charlies birth-day, he is forty-one. Tuesday April 26th 1887 I went over town early this morning and found Hatt some better. I came home and helped get dinner. In the afternoon we were all over town to see the Odd Fellows parade. It was quite nice. We got home just in time to escape a shower. Wednesday April 27th 1887 I gave the house a good cleaning up before noon. Mother dressed a turkey and did the other work. After dinner I cleaned the silver and then Mother and I went out in the lot and worked the rest of the afternoon. I was tired and went to bed early. Thursday April 28th 1887 I went to town the first thing this morning to invite some company for tomorrow night and called on Mr & Mrs Magill It was noon when I got home and I was very tired as the wind blew so strong. I cleaned lamps in the afternoon and rested. Mother roasted the turkey this morning. Friday April 29th 1887 It was a splendid day. I baked cake in the forenoon and fixed some other things for supper. My company all came and I enoyed it very much. One thing we were all sorry for John Whetstone and Will Foster were obliged to go back to town after supper. Charlie came in on the eight oclock train from the west and spent the evening here and went over to Hatties to stay all night. Saturday April 30th 1887 I got the house cleaned up and worked out in the yard some in the forenoon. The folks were all away in the afternoon and I kept it up. Hatt went home with Charlie this morning to stay over Sunday. Sunday May 1st 1887 After the work was done Will and I took a long ride out east of town We slept all the afternoon while Mother was gone to the cemetery. It rained just at night and we all spent the evening at home. The day was very warm.
