Saving...
Tuesday May 17th 1887 We did the washing this forenoon and I sewed a little in the afternoon and went down on the hill where Will was setting posts. I do not feel very well today. Wednesday May 18th 1887 I went down to Halsons with Will this morning and then we drove up town. Mother ironed while I was gone and I finished it before noon. She oiled the kitchen floor in the afternoon and I sewed. Weather warm. Thursday May 19th 1887 I gave the house a good cleaning up this forenoon and just as I got it done Will came in and said he was going to town in the buggy. I went with him, and looked at a wedding present for Ott. He came back from a visit to Marshalltown this afternoon. Mother was gone to town in the afternoon and I took a ride with Will out to see the cattle and the fields of oats & corn. Friday May 20th 1887 Mother and Ott went to the valley and stayed all night I was busy about the house all the forenoon and sewed a little in the afternoon. Then May and I melted the tops of tin cans. Will was at work about the home place part of the day and ploughed corn the rest of the time. Saturday May 21st 1887 Mother came home about nine oclock. I was glad of it as I did not feel like doing the work. I sewed a little Will made some chicken coops in the afternoon. The children were over all day. Mother took them home after supper I went to bed before it was hardly dark I felt so badly. Sunday May 22nd 1887 I felt better this morning. Will and I rode to the valley and took dinner at Aunt Ems. We stayed with Grand-ma while the rest of the folks went to a funeral below there. The Whetstones were over all day. Monday May 23rd 1887 I wrote a letter to Lizzie Duncan and went to town before noon. I ate my dinner at Hatts. Ott moved the old desk in the afternoon and I helped put things away.
