172 Friday June 24th 1887 I got the house all cleaned up while Mother got the turkey on to coook. Hatt & Fanny with the children came and I helped Hatt pick currants before noon. In the afternoon the girls and I finished Mothers new dress. Aunty went home this evening. Will fixed fence in the valley in the afternoon Saturday June 25th 1887 Mother went over to stay with Hatt for awhile. May and I picked the berries and got the dinner. I went to town with Will in the afternoon, and after we came home got the supper and did up the work. Was tired and went to bed early. Sunday June 26th 1887 I was busy about the work most of the forenoon. Mother, Hatt with both the children came over for the afternoon. We sat on the porch and talked. John came over to stay for supper. Monday June 27th 1887 Charlie helped with the washing and it was done before ten oclock. May and I picked berries and I put up a jar after dinner. I got the clothes in and rolled them up early. May and I picked currants before supper. Mother & John drove over with the children and Mollie Fletcher was here for plants. Later in the evening, Hatt, Ott & Fan were here a little while. Will began to cut hay this afternoon but the mowers broke the first thing. Tuesday June 28th 1887 It was a fearful warm day. I finished the ironing by eleven oclock and after dinner put up some currants. Will got to work in the meadow today. May was gone to town in the afternoon. We picked more currants in the early evening. Word from Burlington tells us Charlies having a girl baby. Wednesday June 29th 1887 I was working the fruit all the forenoon. Will finished the meadow and took the machine home before noon. I felt too tired to do any thing in the afternoon. Will came in and we talked all the afternoon about our prospects here. May was to town twice. Mother, Ott & Fan went to the valley and after they came home, Mother came over here awhile. Thursday June 30th 1887 I went to work the first thing this morning to put up twenty
