173 four quarts of berries I bought yesterday. Mother came in a little time and brought both the children with her, they picked curants till noon and in the afternoon Mother and I picked them over. I put up thirty quarts of fruit after it was sealed today. Ott came for Mother and the children before supper. Friday July 1st 1887 I was busy all the forenoon doing baking and cleaning up the house. May and I picked berries in the afternoon. I sewed some on some bonnets. The boys worked late to get in the last load of hay. Saturday July 2nd 1887. I put up a few berries and churned in the forenoon, beside finishing the bonnets. Mother was over in the afternoon and stayed till after supper. We wrote to Charlie. It rained early this morning and a heavy shower in the afternoon. Sunday July 3rd 1887 I was working about the house all the forenoon. I made pressed chicken for tomorrow. In the afternoon May took it over to Hatts, and Will and I were here alone. We spent the afternoon talking over our prospects for the future. A heavy rain in the afternoon. Monday July 4th 1887 Will and May picked the berries this morning and I put up six quarts besides baking a cake for our party tonight. After dinner Will, May and I walked over to town Our supper at Hatties was very pleasant. Will and I came home to do the chores The folks all came over here later and Ott had fire-works on the hill. Robbie stayed all night. A lovely day after the rain. Tuesday July 5th 1887 I had the washing done early this morning and May churned soon after dinner Will took Robbie and I over town in the buggy. It was five oclock when we got home and I was till eight getting my work done. Wednesday July 6th 1887 I was sick early this morning but felt able to go at the ironing about nine oclock. Mother came over and got the dinner Hatt was over in the afternoon and sewed on Mothers dress. Thursday July 7th 1887 I finished Mothers dress and done some other work today. Weather very hot. Will was about the place most of the day. Will sold sixteen hogs for $143.10 and delivered them this evening.
