Saving...
175 Friday July 15th 1887 It was a very warm day. I did the mending and helped Lizzie get dinner. Will had Uncle Jims man cutting oats today I do not feel very well and was lying down in the afternoon. Saturday July 16th 1887. I did some baking this forenoon and helped Lizzie get the dinner. When Lee came he told us that Ella Robinson had died last night. We were greatly shocked. John and Hatt came over in the buggy and I went with them down there a little while. They are a broken hearted family. The machine broke so they could not work and Will went to town and with him later in the afternoon. Hattie is still doing her own work and is very tired. The heat was perfectly awful today. Will and I spent the evening on the porch. Sunday July 17th 1887 It was a fearfully hot day. Hattie came over early with the children to stay all day. Will took the horse and went back to town to bring John at noon. After dinner John Hatt and I went down to Ella Robinsons funeral. It was very sad for us. Lee was one of the pall-bearers. Late in the afternoon we had a terrible rain storm. The folks went home before that. Monday July 18th 1887 I was doing some work about the house before noon and after an early dinner Will and I drove to the valley to see how Grand-ma was as we heard she was sick. It rained on us going down but cleared of before we came home. We found Grand-ma better. The man from Uncle Jims tried to cut the oats this afternoon but could not make the machine work. Tuesday July 19th 1887 I was doing work about the house and sewed some. I got the dinner nearly ready for Lizzie went to town. Will was about the house most the forenoon waiting for the machine to be fixed. The cut grain all afternoon. Mother got home today. I took supper at Williams with Hattie and others. Wednesday July 20th 1887 It was raining this morning but Lizzie and I washed and put the clothes to soak. Mother has gone back to town to stay with Hatt as she is still with-out help. I sewed in the afternoon. Mother and Fanny here in the afternoon. The boys fixed the road on the hill.
