Saving...
178 Wednesday August 3rd 1887 I helped a little about getting the house ready for the company tonight. The girls and Ott brought the things over about six oclock it rained some but about fifty of them came and were entertained in the house. I did not feel well enough to enjoy it. Thursday August 4th 1887 I did not do hardly any thing in the forenoon and in the afternoon was here alone and wrote letters. The girls were over in the forenoon and all wanted me to go to the doctor but I would not do it. Mother was visiting over to Eugene Harts. The teachers all came tonight and had a pleasant time. They went home soon after ten so it was not very late when we got to bed. Friday August 5th 1887 I helped a little about putting things to rights this morning though it was late when I got up Fanny came over for some of the things and for Mother she went over there for the day. I feel slightly better and worked a little in the afternoon Saturday August 6th 1887 I cleaned up the house some in the forenoon and helpd Lizzie a little with washing comforts. It was a pleasant morning for work. The girls were over and got the rest of the things. I was working on rags all the afternoon. I changed my clothes before supper and Will and I were over town all evening. Fannys sister came today I begin to feel quite like myself again. Ott and Fan took Edith home she has been here since Thursday. Sunday August 7th 1887 It was a pleasant morning and Will and I went for a ride Were out to the pasture and to the fair ground. Had dinner soon after we came home and wrote to Mary Woolf in the afternoon Ott, Fanny & Hatt were over for supper. Spent the evening on porch. Monday August 8th 1887 Did some baking and helped about the work in forenoon. Soon after dinner Mother and I drove to town and got a new dress for her and some other things and brought them home. We then went out past the field to see if they were beginning to thresh It was nearly five oclock when we got home. We had a letter from Father and both wrote to him. Lee started to camp this morning The threshers were here all night It was late before we had supper.
